@avclub-1eef45ef03673157e63ffab5e8c42326:disqus Wait, I thought canon said that John was playing the Fender Bass VI on Helter Skelter. (Paul was on lead guitar.) The bass playing is certainly not Paul's style, nor does it sound like the Höfner nor the Rickenbacker. It sounds Fender-y. And sloppy. Much as I love John,

That was Ringo, not John. They'd been playing "Helter Skelter" over and over all day and that was at the end of something like a 30 minute take of the song. He thew his sticks across the studio and yelled that. And Ringo is generally an affable, easy going guy.

I'll buy that. The first series was written by Curtis and Rowan Atkinson, and it was largely awful. The rest were Curtis with Ben Elton, who must've been doing the heavy lifting with the writing.

Probably not. When I was a HS senior in '97, my HS started phasing it out. That year freshmen had to stay on campus, but sophomores on up still had open lunch. The next year, only upperclassmen, then only seniors, then no one. My wife graduated in '01 and her school didn't have it the whole time she was there,

Ron Moore isn't involved in Blood and Chrome. David Eick is, but not Moore.

Yes, MJ had to sell his music holdings to Sony/ATV. Also, he owned the publishing rights to most Lennon/McCartney songs and pre-1968 Harrison songs. EMI owns the rest of the rights and 50% of the money has always gone to the former Beatles or their estates.

Seconded. I was 5 when it came out. Clearly in the ewok target audience. I thought they were cute. I loved all of it. I made my mom buy me C3POs so I could get the trading cards and cut out the masks on the back of the box. It wasn't until I was an adult that I too realized the pandering cynicism in the creation of

My wife actually watched the prequels first. She didn't catch a lot of pop culture stuff when she was a kid, so in grad school one of her friends, who is a huge SW fan (reads the novels even), showed her the movies in order I-VI as an experiment. She really hated the prequels, just like anyone else, although she

Clever, but Wil Wheaton is currently on the Jonathan Coulton Crazy Cruise II and has no internet access. His blog is serving up a greatest hits type post daily while he's gone. And thus I have justified my name for the week.

@avclub-9d512e28838bd0483c473d80a285d4e8:disqus Not sure if you're being snarky or not, but a Cleveland radio station is what got Rush noticed by a major label. They kept playing "Working Man" (discovered while sorting though records sent to them to find songs long enough for a DJ to take a bathroom break) from their

That's pretty much what he said he did on twitter.

@avclub-90c88bf435e7bdafcb26109a12313c7d:disqus They somehow blew the fuel distributor off trying to start it with whiskey. I had a couple cars with Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection (hi, also a car nerd), and blowing that thing off would be quite a feat. At least the prop people used something from the actual fuel

@avclub-f3fcbcfe1af47947c70881914ea2bdab:disqus If you want a bad one, we've got "Move Along Home" coming up as episode 10. DEEP HURTING.

Yes. "Jet Jaguar"

I've not ordered a Criterion BluRay yet, but based on the others I've bought,  @theLadyfingers:disqus is right. A majority are Region ABC. I think the only ones I have that are only Region A are the Pixar movies (thanks Disney!). Pretty much every DVD I have is region-locked, but it's kind of rare with BluRays.

**SPOILERS**

I think it's more of a reference to the "let's torture O'Brien some new horrible way" episode they eventually come up with for every season to take advantage of having someone with Colm Meaney's acting chops.
