Oh shit, I need to check out The Irresponsible Captain Taylor myself…I caught random episodes on some random International channel maybe a decade ago.

I don't hate the show, but despite strong performances by the children and Neil Flynn, I still didn't care for the characters.  It feels about as close to laugh-track sitcom as a single-camera show can get.

I like Anna Camp's work (the blond best friend), but it's too bad she never seems to find anything lasting.

No, just a handgun.

No, just a handgun.

It's certainly not a deeper, more rewarding experience than pen & paper session or MMORPG…but it requires so little effort on the player's part and that tends to be enough to create an addictive system that sucks hundreds of hours away from time that could be spent playing other games and engaging in new experience.

I propose it would be a better show if they cut twice as much.

SO MANY LAYERS

You forgot the part where the cast of the BBT is killed in a tragic, but hilarious plane crash.

Are there any gaming blogs/websites you'd recommend that delve a little deeper into videogames (other than say your own blog or the Gameological Society)?

This is one of the few things I agree with Janine Restrepo on.  How the fuck is it weird to sort comments in the DIRECTION OF TIME?

It seems people are putting their lists here so:

By the way, how the fuck is anyone supposed to keep up with all this shit to make an informed decision?  I can't even do that in categories I'm familiar with.

The AV Club commentariat has disappointed me in their choices for Videogame Soundtracks.  The same people who are elitist in their TV shows and films are populist in their choice of videogames!  Bah!

I may not really agree with the actual rankings, but the shows in that list and the runner-up are solid in their overall make-up, which is basically as much as anyone can agree with anyone else on the internet.  No shitty CBS shit, just TV worth watching.

I watched the first couple episodes.  They were mildly amusing, but I haven't been driven to watch them weekly.
