It was only 22 22-minute episodes, which comes to 8 hours, easily doable in a 21 hour day.
Well, that's pretty much what they're aiming for.
I just burned through the first season yesterday myself. It's pleasant enough, but I don't think there's been a single episode that's really amazed me.

I notice people here (AV Club as a whole, and the denizens of this commentarium) tend to be excessively harsh toward new shows…Community and P&R were no exception. People get way too picky here.
