@Montypark:

Go back to /b/ , P-LZ.

For your consideration: Marcia Strassman ("Julie Kotter") and Pam Dawber ("Mindy").

Why Mork? Because Garry Marshall had Robin Williams under contract and needed a suitable showcase to debut the character and get the buzz going for the upcoming "Mork & Mindy". IIRC, the buzz was loud in the target demo- those of us who were tweens at the time.

@Warren Oates: I'm older than you by, iirc, 4 or 5 years. No disrespect for your namesake, but I'm a big fan of Demarest. Not forever, but he's grown on me over the years. The kicker was the scene near the end of Hail The Conquering Hero, when he's describing Bracken's "heroic actions"- but there's no sound, you just

William Demarest: Greatest Character actor EVER!
If you doubt me, watch him in all of the films he made with Sturges. The guy is absolutely amazing.

Dear Penthouse Forum,

Not seeing it, but the film was made before the Hays(?) Code, so it's possible. But I think she's wearing a bathing suit. The scene is set by a swimming pool, iirc.

Hot Fuzz, Harbinger? Really? It was good, but I thought that Shaun of the Dead was funnier.

I liked it. Rented it because it was a Turturro flick, and was happily surprised to find that it was a nice homage to the Marx Brothers.

@Ellsworth Toohey: A Torino or a Grand Torino? There was a big difference. My dad had a 4-door Torino soft-top, metallic copper body with a black vinyl roof. Starsky and Hutch wouldn't be caught dead in a Torino.

Uhhhhmmmm….The Waltons? Little House On the Prairie?

WGN ran it forever, and, iirc, so did WKBD . Gotta figure it played well in the Second City and Detroit.

I'd go with The Beverly Hillbillies and Green Acres (not necessarily in that order), followed by Bewitched.

My sister and I sang "You will learn about strife when you play the Game of Life."

You will learn about life when you play the game of Life.

So if the world was overrun by cannibalistic humanoid urban dwellers, would that be evidence of an apocalypse or just evolution?

@Mitchforth

Something like Morrowind? I'd buy it.

I liked Moriarty, but face it: Steven Hill owned everybody's ass.
