I liked this Chekov. At least they gave him something navigational to do. I don't recall that happening too often on TOS.

Hmm…I've gotta check that Sabbath/Funkadelic thing out.

If I were in Ann Arbor and I saw anything off the shore, the first thought that would pop into my head would be, "WHERE THE FUCK DID THIS LARGE BODY OF WATER COME FROM?!?!"

As Noel speculated up-thread, maybe we shouldn't expect destruction. What if Jughead and the energy force contained inside the island cancel each other out?

I like the wormhole theory, knowing that Ann Arbor isn't on a body of water that would be navigable by a submarine- maybe there's a DHARMA docking station in Toledo, Monroe or Detroit- whether the ship is on the surface or below it.

I'm pretty sure Phil will die- I think he's got a bigger gig going with Southland.

Or "feel".

Riff, sometimes I don't fell so…._fresh_. Any suggestions?

I was just a little disappointedwhen I first saw the Inglorious Basterds trailer. I was hoping that Tarantino might go back into his Jackie Brown mode and make something a it more subtle. I was hoping that this film would be a little tribute to Sam Fuller's The Steel Helmet and The Big Red One.

When you say 'the modern hip hop way' you mean the '70's jive talk way, right? As in, "You say this cat Shaft is a _bad_ mother"? See also: The Bomb.

That cartoon is up on YouTube. And I get where you're coming from- a lot of Bruce's stuff is dated. If you aren't familiar with Cardinal Spellman you might not get the joke. The Grace L. Ferguson Airline and Storm Door Company, otoh, is pretty timeless. Prescient, even, after deregulation.

Quick, someone reassure me that the Colours By Alexander Julian look is never coming back. I love my mom, but she gave me way too many of those shirts and sweaters in the mid/late '80's.

Does that mean you got rid of the old Bob Newhart albums, too? Lenny Bruce? Damn….

Think about what you're trying to do to me?

Agreed. And you forgot Quest For Fire.

NO!

I can't give one to Sorkin. I'm always afraid he's going to wedge Gilbert & Sullivan in somewhere again.

Van Morrison, too. He made some really inaccessible stuff from the late '70's to the early/mid '90's, but he's still great.

The Firesign Theater
Yep, still releasing albums, still leaning on old characters like Peorgie Tirebiter, but dammit! they earned a pass from me with the Father Flanagan-like "Domini, Domini, Domini…You're all Catholic now," on the first cut from the first album. Nick Danger and The Adventures of Peorgie and Mudhead
