In fairness, there have been clues and indicators scattered out piecemeal for more than two years, so nobody could blame you for getting a little lost.

I respect the hell out of what Griffin was trying to do with the Stolen Century but I found it downright tedious to listen to. As a followup to the Suffering Game—itself at times a tedious slog—I don't mind admitting that I left TAZ in the queue, untouched, for a month and more at a time.
KEEEWWWLL!
Late to the party, but I agree entirely. I'll go back and listen to the Stolen Century arcs if I break my leg or something and am hard up for entertainment, but it does absolutely nothing for me.
They see the pan-species Galactic Council as dithering and useless (which, let's be honest, it kind of is) and think "United Nations/Leftists whining and arguing while civilization teeters on the brink of collapse."
You're right though in fairness Vesper was introduced as knowing nothing whatsoever about poker, which I have no problem with because, really, why would she?
That's what bothers me about Scarlet Witch, and to a lesser extent Black Panther. At the moment they both have extremely ill-defined powers so it's very difficult for them to be genuinely engaging in an action scene.
I agree that the Force itself is your basic sort of animistic magic. But I have fond memories of watching lighting shoot out of the Emperor's fingertips for the first time.
My single favourite class of character in any action film is "comically British, evil and (usually) inept British person in a Chinese/Hong Kong film."
You lookin' to get purged, boy? 'Cause that sounds like purging talk to me.
Regarding your first point, eh, probably not. Griffin and Rachel seem pretty damn ambivalent about the show these days, and I wouldn't be totally surprised if they shifted away from The Bachelor more or less permanently, only swinging back to cover Very Special Episodes or something.
Welcome to Night Vale is an interesting concept but it's so fucking precious that after ten episodes I wanted to beat it up and take its lunch money. And that was before the Fandom got its hooks into it.
I've been listening to SGU for, gosh, a decade now. And while I dip in and out—the "Forgotten Superheroes of Science" bit I find a little tedious—I appreciate all they do both to promote scientific skepticism and to not be dicks about it, which is a lot harder than it seems.
Griffin takes perhaps a little too much joy in being obnoxious.
Anyone else going to the Toronto live show in October?
It's not clear. Both her and Tugboat Macguire weren't especially likeable, which is death for the world's most likable superhero couple.
I've been using Pocket Casts for three or four years, and it does all of the above quite well. It even has a fairly attractive and intuitive interface, which I consider a bonus.
Anime tropes normally drive me up the wall but Shokugeki no Soma leans into them so hard that they circle around and become fun again.
I hope that happens so we can finally populate the #wallmeat tag on IMDB. Delicious, succulent wallmeat.
Ooh, don't forget that the Yangs had a picture of the Devil in one of their holy books that just happened to look exactly like Spock. Fuck, what a terrible script.
