I found that to be true of most of the pilots over the years, frankly. Come season 3 I was surprised that I was supposed to have an opinion about Hot Dog, for example. Most of them struck me as being as essentially disposable as Rico's platoon mates in the movie version of Starship Troopers.

I admit I was startled by that. I've been guilty of losing track of characters and actors on this show, but it never occured to me that those two guys looked or acted anything alike.
