@avclub-146bc30c345d31f3468fec764a1970e1:disqus Well, I'm not just ignoring Superman in order to point at Green Lantern and call him "unrealistic." Every single DC superhero I can think of is unrealistic to a greater or lesser extent. My argument is simply that the Corps' central premise is so absurdly whackadoodle as

Couldn't agree more. Years ago we had a similar discussion in the Batman thread about this very subject.

I know that GL's ring is hugely underpowered in the JLU, and it makes perfect sense for the context.

The answer to that question could literally not be any more clear.

@avclub-ab60729bcbd8293eb5f31e5077c29049:disqus "No, it's okay. Keep arguing with each other about what your dreams mean, and whether you should declare war against everybody else in the Galaxy because their heads aren't bony enough. It's fine, really.

I like New Kosh. Was ready for a change after three seasons of Kosh Classic.

Our own @Delenn:disqus does a very good job of discussing the tactics—and the physics—of fighting a superior enemy in an infinitely vast microgravity environment.

A 20th century firearm should be a goddamn superweapon on this show.

@Automocar:disqus Well, in deference to your avatar, we are not merry men.

With due respect to Mr. Morden, I think that Chris and Snoop would have made outstanding Shadow operatives.

Reasonable. I doubt the Shadows were much for 'death or glory'.

It's pretty fun, though I find it a bit overrated. Its fiercest advocates insist that there's an overarching mythology and plot. I don't know that's not the case, only being 15 episodes in, but they sure haven't arisen yet.

It took me a few episodes to cotton to that as well, until I remembered that Englishmen don't throw things in 'the garbage'. 'The Bin' is such a marvelously English way of saying it, too.

I didn't find it inappropriate. With her 'rich boy' crack, she's implicitly threatening him where he lives. He's just returning the favor in a literal fashion, confronting her when she's naked, alone and as vulnerable as she's going to get.

Of course, it's also a pretty good example of why Cadmus exists in the first place.

I'm sure to be in the minority on this one, but I don't mind what I've seen of his New 52 look.

@avclub-93bf0903fd207bdfd856ede8e84f7d1f:disqus He's rather like Seth Rogen that way.

@avclub-236e42b5af241c85d97910f5c1aa6107:disqus An interesting read, thank you.

Personally, I think the 'naked boys' aspect of the book says more about our giggling immaturity as a society than about Card himself.

@avclub-da518aecddbf5c94588f53562012c452:disqus That's going a little far, I think. The war was a colossal misunderstanding and should never have taken place, but I don't think the Formids were the 'good guys'.
