i think you are right in your first 2 paragraphs, and thats why amon is a villain, until he realizes that taking away bending wont really solve anything because it doesnt take away the "evil" (for lack of a better term) in men's hearts.

i shouldnt have liked it, but i did like the scooby doo revelation of tarlock's lies. they had to do it, plot wise, but they made it really fun with tarlock's assistant growing a spine!
