My favorite part was the chyron on the bottom saying something like "pants coming off." Amazing.

Was the whole thing a con from MIB, though? He took the watch off of Widmore's nerd before he found the C4.
Nope. Not ironic. Still awesome though.
I loved this episode. I think what made the parody never seem stale is, as Todd said, that they made it there own—an organic (if absurd in the best sense), original and fun story using Goodfellas' beats, but not simply aping it. Also, the camera movement. The fucking Scorsese-style moving camera, on set on a sound…
Even Dwarves Started Small is a crazy fucking movie. Tons of the jokes like Tasha referenced at the end—Dwarves unable to open doors because the handle is too high, unable to have sex because they can't get onto the bed, etc., but it also has pure anarchy and chaos—the aforementioned pig slayings among other things.…
That mind bogglingly awful Brendan Fraser/talking and dancing animals movie has TV spots running currently that have the name of the movie over the top. So I guess it's still happening.
Facebook in the South Park episode was the entirely of the point of the episode. The whole Sidewyas thing in this one was more a small joke than anything else—you could watch the entire episode missing that joke (as Todd did) and still enjoy it.
Fair enough. Of course torrents and random flash videos of TV shows (which is how I used to watch Mad Men and Battlestar Gallactica before I got even basic cable) usually look like shit, but it's ebtter than nothing, I guess.
Damnit
I wish I could afford HBO. Guess I'll do what I did with The Wire and wait for DVD. Ah well.
Ooh! I wanna play.
The MIB has done some pretty evil things, all told. Killed and killed and killed. I know people like saying the choices presented by Jacob and the MIB are in the end similar and unfair, but I always got a serious biblical vibe from each of them. Jacob says "I will do this for you, but you have to sacrifice something"…
Reveal can be a noun. One of the wonderful things about the English language is the way nouns can be adjectives, verbs can be nouns and adjectives can become adverbs. Another thing is the abundance of synonyms, homophones and homographs. Gotta love a language that has it root in two different systems of language while…
"Classical Rock"/rock mixed with classical music…I thought that was called Prog Rock.
How does it fit with the Jacob/Esau story? Where in the Torah do they talk about Esau being the potential for all evil and Jacob using a place as a way to keep him in check? Or Jacob and Esau marshaling their forces against each other? Jacob tricked Isaac into favoring him over Esau, possibly spent his entire life…
We had this conversation before.
I don't know, Noel. The Swan and the failsafe key may be close to Hulk (or the bomb and if Juliet turns into a superhero—since it was of course Bruce Banner getting stuck in a bomb testing area), but being stuck in an experimental device like that specifically screams Dr. Manhattan to me. They're close, but not…
Crap. In my list I forgot Charlie, despite mentioning him in my preamble. So…
I wouldn't avoid them simply because of the AV club review, for sure—I'll still probably check them out, as I am too a fan of more experimental, non-traditional narrative structures and storytelling styles, but while I of course haven't seem the films, Scott's critiques make a lot of sense with the other things I've…
Yeah, on second though, I actually might put Desmond episodes above Ben episodes. The Desmond episodes are always fucking mind blowing, and I had forgotten Jughead was a Desmond ep as well. Even his worst episode, Catch-22, is better than, say, the average Kate or Jack episode.
Bourne Valedictorian: Yeah, that's kind of what I meant by "somehow be both." Perhaps Desmond, when drugged on his way over to the island, flittered in and out of each reality, appearing and disappearing like he did on the plain. I have a feeling it's going to be awesome, whether next week or later.
