Amazing—my first instinct was to also comment on schools as a whole rather than the films discussed (see my below comment). Someone forgot to tell us we're on a pop culture website.

Teacher's Unions
If this the appropriate place to get into a debate about the root of the problem with public schools in the USA? Because as a son of 2 teachers I have a different take on the whole thing.
I think it's really funny to imagine Donavan McNabb as a huge fan of Jean Cocteau.
Spaceman came down to answer some things,
The world gathered round from paupers to kings.
"I'll answer your questions, I'll answer them true,
I'll show you the way, you know what to do."
Hey, how do you think I feel? I LIVE in LA and can't afford to go. At least I got to go to one show, back in 2003 on the Hail to the Thief tour when I was in college. I so desperately wish I could afford this. Oh well.
I like the obvious stuff—The Baseball Furies, and "Warriors! Come out to play!"
Really? They mention it a lot. Noel getting Donna hooked into watching Buffy with him when he's doing it for TV Club classic. Donna appreciating but not sharing Noel's obsession with music, et cetera.
Is it a reference to the old Brooklyn Dodgers outfielder Dixie Walker, nicknamed "The People's Cherce"?
I'm sure Barney's smaller role this week was related to his directing the episode.
I think Losey's M was used in a Geico commercial at some point.
Oh, and Franklin the puppet? That's not his name. Franklin Delano Bluth.
The comedy of familiarity
I feel like comedy coming from knowing pretty much exactly how a situation will turn out or how a joke will be told was the standard for sitcoms up until the 90s. You had characters that were types and you knew they'd each react to any given issue. A lot of those sitcoms, which I loved as a…
"Sound of music! Sound of music! Music music!"
To be fair, it's not like that prevented her from getting the part in the end. So there's no reason to get up in arms.
I absolutely love Stephen Root, but that's partially because every time I see him in anything I can't help but smile while thinking about Jimmy James.
I agree with much more cleverer and the other non-Voice of Reasonability people in this thread. She seams like am absolutely lovely person—open to the world and her craft and happy to be able to do what she does. Her thoughts on the type of archetype she plays and the women she knew and knows that she draws upon for…
Not narration, but I also really like the meta-joke in season2 where Michael is talking to backers about thee houses and says "What do you mean cut down to 18 houses? We had plans for 22 and we're in the middle of production" or some such thing. It was right after season 2 got cut to an 18 episodes rather than the…
From the little loved "Prison Breakout":
You have the stuff.
Victor—As long as you've been there. Good beer, good burgers, cheap as hell, and damn if the place doesn't just ooze history. You know the story of the wishbones, right?
