Me too… I really want a second season but I get the sense that this show hasn't really taken off to the extent that one is foregone, plus it must be really expensive to produce. Does anyone have any idea how well it's done, ratings-wise?

I've never been to Iceland but several people I know have, and by all accounts it's a pretty desolate (though stunningly beautiful) place. It seems conceivable to me that they would have to drive through somewhere like that to get to a hospital.
I kept expecting the show to reveal that he was secretly evil, throughout the season, especially when the modernity vs. religion plot reared it's head. I feel like a lesser show would've done that so props to Sense8 for not going down that route.
Took your advice. Then took the advice of a youtube commenter to go visit claridryl.com. Now profoundly unsettled.
I see what you mean, that's true. I remember the interactions seemed to follow of the pattern of the guards being pissed off at him(IMO unreasonably), and then Caputo getting kind of defensive and not properly distancing himself from it, and the guards getting more pissed off. Both sides could've done better, I guess.
I'm not talking about them taking up their grievances with him - that's perfectly understandable. But I remember the scenes with them complaining to him, maybe my memory of it is wrong but it seemed to me like they were actually laying the blame at his door a lot of the time rather than just asking him to fight on…
I can buy that Daya reconciles with her in her current state, but it bugs me that the show seems to be presenting it in that typical TV (sitcom) way of: 'No matter how much they screw up, it's better to have your parents in your lives because they'll always wuv you.' Except that in most other shows, the parents in…
As odius as he is, I feel that there's a slight chance of redemption for him. He is shown to be sometimes capable of breaking past his petty resentments and actually doing something good.
I think this is referring to their attitude before Caputo took the job. I definitely get their anger and frustration but they were blaming Caputo for it all season when it obviously wasn't his fault. They were antagonising someone who was both their boss and the only person above them who was trying to do right by…
Yeah same, I'm usually big on the mythology too, but this is definitely the exception to that. Although, having said that…

Ha, I took out the Hannibal comment and posted it above cause I thought it was more fitting… sorry about that!
I actually thought the most obvious camparison would be to the Wendigo orgy in Hannibal… Only much much happier, obviously.
What I love about this show, queer theory and diversity and all that aside, is that there's so much joy in the telepathy sequences. I'm glad its taken it's time getting the plot and action started because it really makes you feel the character's wonder and awe at being able to connect with other human beings on such a…
I find the Wave experiment to be incredibly interesting in terms of what it tells people about the nature of totalitarian forms of organisation, and the power of raw symbology to hold sway over and influence people. However…
Why so unforgiving,
And why so co-o-old?

Speaking as a teacher… This is not true. You're forgetting that contact hours with a student are limited, and there really isn't much room for us to teach two separate things to different students in one class.
Agree with some of what you've said here… I'm finding this whole thing a bit difficult to swallow because essentially this seems to be boiling down to arguments about the quality of writing dressed up as SJWing.
What is the kudos for, exactly?
Exactly… 'Um, Asia's a pretty big place dude.' Not only that but it's:
I have very limited knowledge of the Star Wars extended universe but this is by far the best thing I've seen to come from it. If it hadn't been left incomplete it really could have been spectacular. Its morals are way more complex than anything I've come to expect from Star Wars and the twists involving the rescued…
