Amazing
This is one of the greatest things I have ever read. I mean this in all sincerity. The comic timing is spot-on, and your ability to get us to empathize with this group of people while completely condemning their activities is fantastic. There may be no better sentence I've read this year than:

A lot of really good bands don't quite hit with you until you're a bit older, and a bit less into what's hip than what matters to you, and then, you can stop caring about what it sounds like and get into what feels right. Big Star is one of those bands. The Go-Betweens are, too. Both ready to be there when you need

No, you don't, Elitist Trash. While the novelty of the Anchorhead scenes is kinda cool for the first minute or so, the bad acting — worse than usual Star Wars standards — throws it away pretty quickly.

Well, Joaquinstick, here you go, but you won't ever be able to unhear it.

Oh, this was pure pop culture research. In that it made me *not* want to, so I started taking notes instead. "Note to self: Her ass has pimples all over it. Could a connect-the-dot pattern be made from them? "

Note to Montana Fishburne: buy some Sea Breeze for your ass pimples.

Absolutely. Richie's commentary tracks on some of these films are also fantastic.

Step Inside This House
Lyle Lovett's all-covers album has some really good versions of three or four of Townes' songs. "If I Needed You" is especially moving, although it doesn't quite cut Townes' version (or Emmylou's). Step Inside This House may be the last thing Lovett has done of any relevance, sadly, although I

Damn. I thought J-horror had finally just given up.

Demon Seed was on TCM about a week ago. Held up well, for what it is. And, fuck no, 2001 is one of the most underrated movies ever, because it's just that damned good.

2010 provides the answer full on, which does destroy some of the mystery, and then allows Haywood a chance to lie his ass off when he says "he didn't know."

Maybe.

You can find it on line in pieces, and it holds up pretty well. And so does the last story in Trilogy of Terror. And the first Night Stalker movie. And the Horror at 37000 Feet.

Thank God
This was setting up to be a really shitty week. This might have saved it.

Over
End it. End it while it's still pretty damned funny and we care about the characters. End it before we stop caring about whether or not it keeps going because we don't care if it does.

"Hell", did you read Ultimates 2? Sorta kinda what you're after.

As a Friend of Denny's, I can say that you are correct, sir. That's just what happened. Hope you like the pictures.

Spot on, Mr. Von Salsa. Spot on.
