Nicely done.
Nicely done.
Oklahoma single-handedly keeps these tours going. Steve Miller could play OKC every day and he'd sell out the Zoo Amphitheater. Why isn't REO a part of this?
It was a very smart move to get rid of the pit subplot as fast as they did. That way, they could start to concentrate on character, without having to keep some kind of running "goal" to accomplish. And getting rid of the Leslie/Mark romance was also smart. I mean, how long could they have stretched that out?
And just as good. Two beautiful films.
In case no one's mentioned it in the other comments, Sayid's face is reflected in the front door of his brother's house, half of it in a clear pane of glass, half in a darker one.
But muuuuch faster. Nothing like 3 hours compressed into 100 easy-to-read pages. Hell, the book of "Warriors" is so much better than the serial that it almost makes you forget it.
This is a fantastic movie. One of Carpenter and Russell's best.
"K9" is on the Invisible Enemy DVD, and has the greatest title music and title sequence ever. "Inept" is a very accurate description, although the show itself isn't that bad.

The Dalek War Box Set for the Classic Series is out today, featuring two really good Jon Pertwee stories: Frontier in Space and Planet of the Daleks. Both are a bit overlong, and the Dalek one suffers from the usual Terry Nation shortcomings (there's a journey! A bunch of people with two syllable…

SCTV!
And, of course, their SCTV collections.
And I'll correct my original post to point out that it's Saavik, not Spock, who assists Kirk.
Thanks, JimZipCode. Had no idea these were out.
OK, I'll lower the geek bar…
Does anyone remember the DC Star Trek comics, which came out between Wrath of Khan and Search for Spock? Pretty damned good, they were, and the first story arc involved these Rock Lobster guys trapping the Organians so the Klingons could start another war, via a space station hidden in a…
As the picture clearly demonstrates, he winds up in The Black Lodge.
John Mayer loves cupcakes of the womanly kind. He often has to say to them, post-coitus, "Shhh. You gonna wake up the rest of the cupcakes."
Reversing the polarity of the neutron flow solves everything.
Douchebag happy now.

Anyone who thinks, brags, or hopes they know anything about film will pick this up immediately. Besides being one of the greatest films ever made, you can see the blueprint for every Stanley Kubrick film right here: tracking shots, use of color, and emotional detachment. It's an awesome piece of art.
