I love that just keep introducing characters, ala The Jetsons, until they get to so-and-so, their second cousin, and her boyfriend, who are running on a stone-age version of the Jetson space treadmill.

With Humanoids From the Deep and Galaxy of Terror, I'm seeing a recurring theme in some of his films. Corman was way ahead of the curve on monster-rape.

"That's the one where the astronaut scientist babe gets raped by the giant maggot."

Wow. If you haven't seen these, buy them immediately. Some of the best children's cartoons ever. Fucking brilliant.

Doctor Who Fans
Keys of Marinus and The Twin Dilemma. Want to know how to destroy a TV series in one fell swoop? Watch The Twin Dilemma. Want to see Doctor Who reduced to every cliche in its arsenal? The Twin Dilemma. Want to watch the 2nd worst program in the series' history? Classic and Present? The Twin Dilemma.

Almost better — all day today and tomorrow Doctor Who marathon on BBC America until the — umm — special episode at 7:30 tomorrow night.

Happy New Year!
Thanks for the hard work and the fun. Cheers.

Adam makes the show. He's self-deprecating and such an obvious food fan that his enthusiasm carries a lot of the show's weight. Ahem. I actually root for the guy, even as I'm having the same guilty moments about famine and poverty in America most people who don't like eating competitions have, but the guy sells it.

"No," is the answer. Or "Rent And Watch While High" to avoid the huge let down from seasons 1 and 2. 2-3 good episodes does not salvage the season.

If you quickly click on each video, one right after the other, you get a very nice found art moment as Washington finishes his speech and Patton screams the name of the car dealership for which he's appearing in a training video.

And that I was part of a group that used the Federation and Empire game to wage huge campaigns of destruction with SFB. We had individual names for all the ships and everything.

I would just like to point out that this is the greatest conversation ever.

My Tholian DN would snap you back to the Sargasso Octant, once I took the 13 turns to turn the damned thing around.

Nerdage Alert
It's set up that the Klingons and the Romulans have a treaty that allows them to share technology. Thus, the ship change.

Shit. Imagine what Tarkovsky could've done with these cameras.

Ahead of Their Time
Every year since it came out, I listen to the Mothers of Invention album Ahead of Their Time, which was recorded live on the day I was born. It's a mixed bag. The first section is a half-improvised, half-scripted monster movie parody about musicians quitting the band to start their own, more

I remember finding this film years ago at a local video store, before it had quite hit cult status. The transfer was faded, but the colors still leapt out, along with the utter insanity of the whole thing. Great find. Fantastic film.

Grey Man, which story are you quoting here? I don't recognize it, and I've seen all the existing ones.

Thanks
Thanks for doing this. I've often talked about The Prisoner to people, but rarely found anyone who'd actually watched the whole thing. Hopefully, this column has done its job, and more people will sit down to see this amazing piece of television.
