It's difficult to say anything about what a pathetic little man Ted Nugent is that hasn't already been said (i.e., the draft dodging, the penchant for relationships with girls that, by today's standards, would be illegal), or how much his past actions contradict the public image he's built for himself.

I was just thinking about that movie, despite the fact I've never seen it. I remember it had a reputation for just being God-awful. I remember reading a review, though, and it stated the 'plan' the two husbands had, which seemed to involve sleeping with each other's wives without the wives knowing it was them, i.e.,

This was his film right before "Pulp Fiction." Point being, it's easy to forget how low his stock had fallen, and how much it was raised by PF. In an alternate universe, shortly after this movie Willis probably would've gone onto star in direct-to-video fare, or return to television.

No, but I do "feel funny" when I climb the rope in gym class. [sad trumpet].

I forget their exact song, but that line, "… or so I've read" gets me every time.

I absolutely loved that song and listened to it for years after its use-by date, but then I was told something about it that ruined it forever, for me. Don't read on if you don't want the song ruined for you, as well:

The episode of "Frontline" about this debate (if you can even call it one) was quite good. But at one point, it showed McCarthy and Jim Carrey at some rally against vaccinations. The narrator referred to them and their cause, and in his ultra authoritative voice said something by way of, "The movement is spearheaded

She really had that whole self-deprecating = self-absorbed thing down. It was kind of like saying, "Hey, look at me! I make jokes at my own expense, so really my relentless egotism is okay!"

That was the most intriguing aspect of the plot, methought. Many of the people who suddenly disappear are immoral and indifferent to religion, and many of the people who are 'Left Behind' include very devout, upstanding Christians.

Re: Beavis and Butthead
Good to see Rabin giving that show its due, viz: cultural impact. The most common put-down of B&B I heard during its run was some variation of, 'It's making fun of the exact same people who watch it. Its fans are sitting around watching MTV and laughing at a show about people who sit around

I think I know what you mean. When I was a kid ('80s) there was still a local station that, almost every night, just showed a movie. There was a huge variety to them: one night it could be "Citizen Kane," the next night "Fast Times at Ridgemont High." Sometimes the weeks would have themes, e.g.: It's Not Nice to Fool

I could never really explain it, and people used to think it was weird, but when the Breeders were having all their success, I thought the Deal sisters were just incredibly hot.

I saw them open for Nirvana on the last night of Nirvana's final U.S. tour. I didn't think they were very good, but it was also a shitty venue with shitty sound, so there's that.

I made a joke on these boards just a week or so ago. After another poster referred to Trump as "an asshole," I replied that he should be careful, because it's not that inconceivable that Trump might start suing people who call him "an asshole" on message boards… If this man's love of litigation proceeds at this rate,

Yes, and Trump will certainly get the best possible shooter to fill in for him.

@ H. Maddas:

In the nadir of my bachelor days, a few times - late at night - I simple heated a pan and dumped some shredded cheddar into it until it bubbled. Let it cool, and it's a rather good cheddar cookie.

If the world were ever going to flip sideways, I always thought it would do so on a Saturday night.

The murderous miner technically had to wait a shorter time for the Valentine's Day dance than this band took to produce its next album (i.e., 20 years v. 22 years).
