Lyle Lovett is a good artist and all, but his songs don't rock. The correct answer for Texas is Jon Wayne's "Ive Got Texas". http://www.youtube.com/watc…

I loved the freaky animated stuff they would show - Night Flight was my first exposure to Fantastic Planet, plus the animated shorts Jac Mac and Rad Boy and Skywhales which gave Fantastic Planet a run for it's money for it's fully realized alien world weirdness - http://www.youtube.com/watc….
I've made my fair share of Yoko Ono jokes, but her album "Yes, I'm a Witch" that had guest appearances from Peaches, Polyphonic Spree, The Flaming Lips and a bunch of other indie artists was completely solid. I kinda hate her non-guest star albums, but all things considered I'm excited about this new one.
It's the awesome secret of his cotton candy. COTTON CANDY!!
Was it? I was thinking that was for their Zooropa album or whatever. I wasn't a huge U2 fan - went more to see the Pixies.
I also saw them open for U2 for their show in Austin. It was the third time I had seen them, and was their worst show. The just looked bored or fed up. It wasn't the ZooTV tour, though - it was for Achtung Baby.
It's not clear the interviewer even knew who Guillermo Del Toro is. "How did you end up in that movie?" …wtf?
That sounds like he could have complete artistic control and STILL have twenty million left over. If he has so little faith in his vision that he won't put up money he definitely has, why should anyone else put up their money?
"Pig" was written on the front door of the Tate house. "Political Piggy" was written on the wall of Gary Hinman's house (an earlier murder victim of Manson family members Susan Atkins and Bobby Beausoleil).
Uh, did you really read the article? Roman Polanski (Tate's husband) directed Rosemary's Baby. Sharon Tate was not in the film.
Form of a nude tableaux cataloging an erotic fixation!
I prefer Title TK to Last Splash. The former works better as an album, whereas Last Splash is more about individual moments. The Amps "Pacer" is still the one I've listened to most overall, though.
No Aloha is surprisingly versatile. The Cro Aloha hard rock version is better than the Last Splash version, IMO. Also, check out the versions from the Kim Deal tribute album "Hellbound" - Emblematic do a zippy carnival-esque electronic version and Roughly Forcing Nostalgia's version starts off soulful and acoustic…
Or maybe people were finally catching on that the whole concept was a pale imitation. There was absolutely nothing that Zombieland brought to the genre. It's like a group of screenwriters got together, said "oh this zombie thing is pretty popular, let's write one of those", then they proceeded to repeat the same…
There's a deleted scene on Eastbound and Down season 2 involving Michael Pena, a hooker, and a sword that you have to see.
Superstar: The Karen Carpenter Story. Everyone hears "Karen Carpenter biopic done with Barbie dolls" and assume it's going to be jokey/funny but it's a pretty straight-up biography, not played for laughs at all.
The problem many people have with the rich depicting their own lives is a tendency for laziness and arrogance. Just because you have the money to buy interesting things and hang out in interesting locales, it does not make YOU interesting. Rich characters, like any characters, need compelling emotions or stories to…
The Virgin Suicides was a good film regardless of who made it, although I'm as big a critic of her later films and their spoiled, unlikeable protagonists as anyone. And ask Roman Coppola how much the name really helps. No amount of line cutting has helped his directoral efforts gain critical praise. Without his Wes…
Yeah, except Gillen is playing the "super hot" one, and he's just OK at best- sort of like if Alan Ruck and Gary Oldman had a baby. It simply wasn't plausible that everyone is so into him. I wasn't crazy about the US version and Gale Harold is not my type, but can easily see how he might be considered the best looking…
I hope this group of friends includes a "everyman" protagonist, his super hot slightly stuck-up friend who everyone lusts after, a queeny guy who flounces about in a colorful way, a pent-up nerdy guy, and an older "mother hen" type character who dispenses sage wisdom to the younger guys. That's never been done except…
