Try Replay by Ken Grimwood.

You might want to take a look at Dave Wingrove's Chung Kuo series.

This September? I hadn't heard that. Excellent!

This makes me think of Olaf Stapledon's stuff. Any idea how it might compare?

It's the perfect time to be reading The Guns of August. I should read that myself.

I finally got around to The Orphan Master's Son and loved it. Then it was The Leftovers so I could watch the HBO series in peace and not worry about spoilers. It was okay. I'm liking the series a bit more. Next up was The Girl With All the Gifts and, even though I wanted to like it, I didn't. And I wouldn't

You should definitely try "Carrion Comfort" by Dan Simmons. It's a single hefty tome that, as I recall, was just the ticket. You won't regret it.

That hair is just too much.

That hair is just too much.

i was looking for my copy of hyperion the other day to reread it but couldn't find it. i may have to agree with you since i have all the sequels and read them but can't really remember anything about them. that first book though. loved it.

i'm with you too littlealex. those later books just suck. it got so bad that i had to stop reading king just wish i had the will to stop reading each new volume of the series. did someone say there is more coming? no way am i going to read another one! ugh.

one of my favorite sf books so i never picked up those sequels penned by son and friend. i just knew they would be bad. i have read some of their individual work. don't bother.

just saw this a few days ago and i couldn't agree with you more. my brother liked it but those last five minutes ruined it for me. shame.

what about dot jones, the lady coach from glee?

got the twin peaks reference right away and it brought a smile to my lips. i love this show! i think lone audience has a great idea for a crossover of sorts

i think we have to give the season a little more time. next week is the fourth week and things should turn up a notch at that point; i, too, think there's more up with paul's son and his drawing made me get all art-therapy-like as well. something's definitely up with that kid

wtf was that bartleby test all about? glad adele passed it though. are there some thematic similaritites? i gotta give this some thought….

some people still read! i was just discussing bartleby with someone last week. so there.

i'd love to see…
hope davis leaving the office one day just as one of our new characters is arriving

he amazing and it's all about the nuances; when frances mentions going for that test and how these things run in the family, you see paul sitting there and there's that look on his face; you know he must be thinking about his own life and the test he's just had himself; such subtlety!
