I thought they built up Peter's gradual loss of humanity in a steady but surprisingly subtle way-JJ aced it. Outside of Peter's transformation it was kind of repetitive-but maybe one could look at it as a "moving around the pieces on the chessboard" episode, but with only one piece, "Peteserver".

The Observers are either too powerful, or not powerful enough. They were set up as this unstoppable force, but they seem to just go all redshirt when the Fringe team are invovled.
