Also, I can't write good.

I understand underage girl loving is a common topic in rock. But most don't talk about licking and sniffing letters a girl wrote and imagine them masterbating. It is not the topic I have a problem with, it is the pervy way Rivers approaches it. He's allow to do it and people are allow to like it, but it turns me off.

If only they took the Uncle Tupelo method of start two new bands, a lot of pain and suffering wouldn't have occured.

Considering Rivers was 26 at the time and imagining the girl touching herself, I think it qualifies as creepy. Adding his creepy Asian fetish to the mix and let's just say if the music career didn't take off I wouldn't be surprised if Chris Hansen were to ask Rivers to "take a seat right here and let's talk".

Never got Pinkerton
But of course tastemakers would pick the album with the really, really creepy child toucher song. Now Blue Album, that's my jam.

I agree Mr. Bolt. I always felt Beach Boys lionization was a bit peculiar, and Pet Sounds as an album that never dated well.

Cam
I love you. The only person who can make a clown car joke and fucking kill it. "People are gonna stare! They're not used to seeing one clown in car!"

Yeah, cause that was a tome, Adolph. Fuck off and take your amazingly original cough with you. (99)

Word o the year
I'm sick of the fact anyone pays attention to this dumb publicity grab. But every fucking year, news people jump all over it and act like it means something. Plus, unfriend is like 2005 at best. The word of the year should have been twat, just so people remember this was the year a site where everyone

In no way was I saying it was good, which sound be fairly obvious from my comment. Classic don't mean good, just ask my friend Mr. Dickens.

Da Vinci Code was Dan Brown's best work and a modern classic of sorts. Doesn't belong on thislist. Klosterman's deepest thought through the whole book is "I said I liked hair metal ironically, but I secretly like it for real". At best, it's a fun look into a fellow nerd's life, not best of the decade material.

Klosterman?
There are some great picks, but Fargo Rock City? Was that a part of an agreement so the Chuckster will still throw an article or two your guys' way?

Phew
Thank you, AV Club. I couldn't go two feet without hearing all those Daft Punk rumours.

Ironic humour in the form of joking is fine. Once that joke manifests itself into real life, the joke is on you.

I understand that, but I was referring to Steve's recap that praised the show for going for the joke without mentioning that part.

I still think funny is funny. Comedy isn't figure skating, you don't get extra points for difficulty. If an osbcure joke is funny, then good. But I don't think that the Moon joke or the Italian airport joke were worth the point going over many people's heads.

I wasn't really calling the show into question, I was questioning Steve's point that jokes that go for far out references should be praised for it. They should be praised for funny. And Frogwise, I think a reference to a 15 year old spousal abuse case that hardly defined Moon's career qualifies as esoteric. Now if it

Esoteric references do not make funny. See: Dennis Miller.

You asked a question, I have the answer
"How many other sitcoms tie quips to Italian airport and Warren Moon references? That kind of resourcefulness—and fearlessness in the face of probable blank stares from non-travelers and non-Houston Oilers fans—deserves some props, no?"

You must have missed the chapter where Oher was accepted to MIT. Oh wait, he wasn't? He was based used so Ole Miss would have a decent O line? Oops.
