What matters to Madison Avenue is that the data is telling them that the network model of television is dying out, and Nielsen gives them that, so why would they blame the messenger? They don't care that the data makes network TV look bad.
The networks have been desperate for Nielsen to change their system because the

The problem with bitching about Neilsen is that there's no better system that breaks down the key demographics of who is watching live TV. The ratings system exist for one reason: to determine ad rates.

Can someone tell me what "Athlead" is? Like, what type of company? And how do they seem to have so much money for what appears to be a large staff and office when their chief investor dropped out several episodes ago?

I think one antiquated thing that needs to go is the broadcast networks' insistence on 22-24 episodes a year. It does nothing but hinder quality. Even the best broadcast shows end up with a third of their output being bad to mediocre in that format. Nothing else inspires a promising show to go down downhill faster

Ah, the 70's. When the only sex scandal associated with John Travolta was when he dated the woman who played his mom in this movie.

The Office would get so much credit in my book if they ended the show with Jim and Pam divorcing. One of the brilliant touches in the original Office was to have Tim confess his love to Dawn, only to be rejected and her to choose her jerk of a boyfriend instead. Yes, they ended up getting an implied happy ending later

To take the example you give, whenElementary's Sherlock makes a crack about Joan's period, she calls him a misogynist.

Every single time I look at a community grade it's B+. I just assumed it was some sort of running joke.

The way they dealt with Sal on Mad Men was much more realistic, with Don seeming to know and not care about Sal's homosexuality until it he was forced to deal with it, when his reaction was disgust. Then Sal was gotten rid of quickly.

The operator didn't even know his wife was in an asylum, though. Talk about sleeping on the job. Sara from The Andy Griffith Show would've never let juicy dish like that get by her.

That is the most cringeworthy line in Titanic.

Obligatory "Mrs. O'Brien is just the worst" comment.

Yes, and I was responding to that point when I replied that Moffat may believe that he hasn't written an anti-intellectual show, just as he believes that he hasn't written a misogynistic one, but the proof is in the pudding.

@drdarke:disqus I wouldn't be surprised about Caviezel. Despite being an atheist and Mel Gibson hater, I can't say that he wasn't impressive in The Passion of the Christ.

The long delay was because the pieces of masking tape next to the switches were written in faded pencil. The landlord wouldn't answer his phone, so Beyonce had to call her dad and wait for him to drive over.

Somebody must've turned on the blender while the dishwasher was running.

@drdarke:disqus I've never seen Person of Interest. Is it worth it? I've seen several comments around the AVC claiming it's the best drama on network right now, but I admit I have no idea what it's about. I confuse it with Criminal Minds, which is definitely not worth it.

mitchy, if you take Rob Doherty at his word, he's already said that Irene Adler was Sherlock's girlfriend and that she's dead. He could be lying of course, to spring a surprise later, but then he also said she might appear in flashback form. It seemed to me that he was closing the door on her being alive in present

Was there any explanation about why Pam was painting it in the warehouse? Wouldn't she be painting it on the actual wall at the community center? Or if it was to be tranferred later, wouldn't she want to paint it in her garage or someplace where she had access to it on weekends or evenings?
