The dash reads like a sudden break. The ellipsis reads like a trailing off. Neither of those are quite the intended effect here, which is a full stop and then a resumption / expansion of the thought. And suggesting that this creates the same kind of confusion as a bunch of unrelated words shoved together in a

Same thing happened in DC, but there are no beaches in DC, so you don't see it as much. I guess you could hang out topless

Yeah, it's been legal for something like two decades. You can see topless women at most New York beaches, with the odd exception of Coney Island, probably because it's too crowded & full of sketchy dudes. But if you hit the the Rockaways in mid-summer, you'll definitely get an eyeful every hundred feet or so.

My wife and I were both in our early 20s. We lived together for three years first. Have been married for over a decade, happily, without any problems other than the occasional money-jobs-long-term-goals stuff.

If this is the Adult Swim event at Roseland Ballroom, I know a few people going to that, and I'm jealous. Although I wonder if this sort of thing ever shapes up as a true concert, or if Kanye will just stand up, mumble a few tracks, insult everyone and then leave.

Well-observed.

@avclub-0c786cf39ad11d66fb70286f1e383da0:disqus No, you're not. There just happened to be a lot of Maron-haters on the site this morning.

I saw him live. I thought he was great. I don't often laugh out loud at his recorded stuff, but live was definitely a different experience.

The "entertainment" argument drives me nuts. It's not about elitism versus entertainment. It's about different notions of entertainment. One man's awesome spectacle is another man's collection of grating cliches. Transformers made $700 million. I thought it was fucking tedious. Which is to say, it didn't entertain me.

It would be so much better if they were "bang bang bang."

Yeah, but they did it with panache.

It's pretty close to *some* of my experiences. His neighbor is clearly an asshole, and Louie was uncomfortable in that situation but struggling mightily to be cool and relaxed, which is a really bad way to smoke, especially if you haven't done it in a while. When I'm around people who make me feel self-conscious, it's

Sad to report, it's not very good at all. The most obvious reason is that these people are just relentelessly hateful. Which wouldn't be a problem, I suppose, if it were funny, but it's not. After the scene with the wedding dress, I spent the rest of the movie either bored or disgusted and wishing that the whole cast

It wasn't necessary to kill the kid. Hell, I'm a grown man, and if I had stumbled across some dudes crawling all over a stopped train in the middle of the desert with weird equipment and pumps and hoses and such, I'd just assume they were carrying out some obscure railroad business. I don't think it was an interesting

I could be wrong, but I don't think BB is the type of show to have an elaborate subplot churning in the background across multiple epsidoes, only to have a big surprise reveal at the last minute. The conspiracies that do happen in this show—like the poisoning of Brock—tend to be situational and are revealed fairly

Those poor conservatives! Without Will Ferrell and Adam McKay giving them their fair shake, how will anyone know what they think?

I feel like Reznor always walked a really fine line. And to his credit, he never really deviated from it. The angsty shock value thing is there, but it never becomes the only thing or even the most important thing. It's just a convenient way to dismiss the music, if you're already so inclined.
