Well, script doctoring is an element of what dramaturgs do—it's a relatively new job that's still being defined.
I have to explain it to half of the theatre people I know.
Adding a plus-one to this: How does this episode define a dramaturg? Is there any insight into what we actually do, and how closely does it track reality?

I love how bizarre that play is. I truly do.
I saw the production that's currently on Broadway when it was at the Steppenwolf, and it was goddamn hilarious, and completely devastating. The comedy is absolutely there to be found, and the dark parts are even better when the comedy is there.
It will the fourth Undercover—it's really time.
And you really need both in your life.
