Yeah, I wasn't expecting to see Performance Studies stuff on the AV Club, but it was a lovely surprise.
Okay, that Cillian Murphy picture is really lovely. I was already modestly attracted to him as a guy, and he makes a beautiful woman.
Spelling Note
If you're referring to a person who performs ritual Jewish circumcisions, the spelling is "mohel". I don't know why it's spelled "mohel" and pronounced "moyl", but I assure you it is.
It's the third anniversary of me dating my boyfriend. So that's sweet!
The whole thing looks really poorly photoshopped to me.
Half the Maori men between ages 18 and 22 in New Zealand, if the rumors are accurate.
The issue is that tickets are so expensive nowadays that fewer and fewer ordinary New Yorkers go. It's something for special occasions, whether the people attending are tourists or locals, and apparently people want their special ocasions to be as pre-approved as possible. Sigh.

Have you ever heard Anthony Perkins' singing voice? It's a really bizarre instrument: this high, throbbing tenor, where he seems to be putting every fiber of his being into these intense high notes that are teetering on the edge of completely failing. Not exactly beautiful, but completely fascinating to listen to.
At Long Last
Noel, I knew you'd come through with something Sondheim-related. I have "Evening Primrose," but haven't had the chance to watch it, and need to track down the birthday concert.
The radio show that introduced me to showtunes plays the entire soundtrack of this movie each year at Christmas time, so I also grew up loving the songs, even though I'm Jewish. It was years before I realized that musicals aren't the genre for which Albert Finney is best known.
Ooooh, are those American Film Theatre movies available now? My Netflix queue is calling…
@Citizen Christy—Was this the Stratford production? That I would absolutely have seen—I got to see his King Lear there and it was exceptional. But did they manage to make Ferdinand/Miranda interesting or Stephano/Trinculo funny?
