Great movie!
Great movie!
Only we're never going to see Diane. She's a destination and a concept.
Dougie's body is a little gold bead in the Lodge. Good Dale has his own body (but not his shoes) which just happens to look like a skinny, cooler Dougie to everyone in Vegas. The male body in the librarian's bed is Major Briggs, who somehow swallowed Dougie's wedding ring.
Green lights playing around his mouth. If nothing else, Good Dale still has visions.
Don't forget the coroner, and now we've seen two female agents. And we should count Denise. I don't know if we can say it's any improvement over the first seasons, where we had Piper Laurie and Audrey and Donna to get things done, but a lot depends on how those agents fare in future episodes. And I think TP has female…
What was weird was that they had a hapless casino manager who was good at this job, and paid out what was rightly won, rather than a bulldog at the gates to keep that money instead. I suppose nothing like Mr. Jackpots had ever happened before.
And he got to yell in exasperation once, such a very Albert moment.
And Rashida is probably going to follow her in her footsteps.
Plus it's so very Lynch, if they don't have a nice full head of gray (like the Warden), then they get a shellack of black (like Coop himself). It's more visual style than anything, I saw it as Tom fitting into the Lynchian world. Like Becky is totally going to have a brunette best friend or cousin.
It's all very deadpan and detached. Things aren't meant to flow smoothly, but to be abrupt jumps in place and tone, while unfolding nearly in real time.
But with the added expertise of being proficient in Blue Rose cases.
DUGE LUV I thought?
That's a lot of tolerance, though, he seems infinitely patient.
Always loved the Chalfonts.
If you don't have the patience for the slowly excruciating (which I don't always, from lesser shows), then you don't really get Lynch. His aren't just about emotional torture, they always lead to some payoff in communication or miscommunication somehow. Like the kid obsessing over the unknown bomb under the car,…
The people that know crucial things, but stay in their cabins in the woods and never tell anyone are the most frustrating part of TP. At least Jacoby is broadcasting his insanity!
They front-loaded, but now we must watch it unfold.
"I know where she drinks."
Don't forget Phyllis, or how they're all blondes.
Yes, Briggs wasn't wearing the ring. He had swallowed it (but otherwise hadn't eaten for several days). And where's his head, other than in the Death Cosmos plane that Good Dale passed through?
