If he gave the impression that he cared about his behaviour towards others, and his interest in tennis, and was trying to help himself, then I have no issue with him.

Again, not saying that lashing out at people is okay (I question calling it "verbal abuse" but okay). All I'm advocating is that people stop being so judgmental and show a bit of patience and empathy with the guy, since I think it's clear he's working through some real issues.
