ohhh I've been taping stuff for a long time now—my mom used to call me the mad taper—-in college I would find a way to have 4 vcr's running across campus simultaneously—It was literally the only thing I could actually do right over those 4 years. (ohh memories) but yes this is probably the first time since I wanna say

Wooo! Double Shot Season Premiere of Last Man Standing!
This is where I admit somewhat begrudgingly that I miss Todd because I know I could have counted on him to have this covered. "Last Man Standing is taped in front of a live studio audience" (sniff)

    Laser Crosby, Stills, and Nash.
    get it?

there's always tv to watch Archmage—have you seen Arrow? you should check out Arrow—Arrow's really, really good. have you ever seen Elementary? it'll be back at the end of October…have you ever seen Grimm? that'll also be back at the end of October…have you ever seen Resurrection? I wouldn't say its really good…but

    Dennis (dennis…dennis…dennis) IN SPAAAAACCE (Spaaaaacce…Spaaaacce….Spaaaacce)

I didn't get to watch it tonight as I didn't get home til after 9. (I missed Bones And Vampire Diaries! or as I like to call them The Bone Diaries!!!)

(slowly raises hand) Is Eric Cantor that guy who's also from Chicago with that "Barney Miller" era Ron Glass mustache right? or am I'm confusing him with Rob Emanuel? (is his name Rob Emanuel or Ron Emanuel?) One of em was chief of staff during Obama's first term (I think) This is why I was NOT a poly-sci major.

I own the vhs of Slapstick which I found completely at random when going thru this old store's basement of vhs tapes that they were getting rid of. (Literally I had to go into their basement and paw through the accumulated tapes that they wanted to trash—and in there was Slapstick Of Another Kind) If you lived in nyc

um maybe not the entire budget but I think a disproportionate amount of it came directly from Willis…if I remember right there was a lower tier art house division of some studio involved in pre-production and production who withdrew their support for the movie after seeing a rough-cut of some dailies and the movie was

saw the movie many years back now—I think when it first came to vhs/dvd which would be in I guesss early to mid 2000, but whenever I think back on it (or someone mentions it) my sum total memory of it is the box for it (with Willis wearing the Uncle Sam get up) and Omar Epps giggling hysterically because his character

Wow The Shout was in contention at Cannes that year?!?!?!? that's pretty awesome to know and you're absolutely right when you say that movie should be far better known today than it is. Its a nice creepy little movie and its about a guy whose shout kills people!!!

I know this is a matter of personal opinion but Supernatural never felt like it was casting around in search of a story arc (even after they effectively defeated Satan the show found reasons and season long arcs—hell multiple season long arcs at this point—to continue on) '

    Die Wolf Die.

its true I've never seen that movie—that's the one where the young woman finds out that her mom was originally planning her to be aborted and finding this out for whatever reason completely shatters her world and her faith in it??? (also why do I know that?)

(raises hand) I watched it. Almost reluctantly so since I was fairly turned off by the first season. You know Resurrection is actually based on a novel called "The Returned" (by Jason Knott) which is not affiliated with the French show. The book while not great had a good number of ideas strewn throughout it,

I hate to say it but the works you mention as runner-ups in competition that year were a lot more intriguing. Despair might not be in Fassbinder's top 10 or 20, but its a damn interesting movie. Empire of Passion is also intriguing as well. (shrugs) Neither might be as formally committed to depicting small town

I similarly tried to sit through this on vhs about a decade back when I was in the habit of trying to seek out the most obscure stuff I could possibly find in my college's media library (of which I worked in for three of my four years there so it was a habit I was able to make great use of!)

C's about on point—tho if I were generous (and I usually am I might go with a B- if only because the Lily plotline was actually cuter and more realistic/life like then they normally are) Also I generally like Alex centered eps—she's a good character and its usually nice to see her be able to do more than just snark at

I like the fact that the show has a lot of characters—I like seeing them being paired up in different combinations for plotlines as happens from time to time. I'll agree that its a bit ridiculous for them to have to involve every single cast member in a plotline every single episode—rather than giving a cast member a

I also moderately enjoyed the Cam and Mitchell story the most if only because it really felt the most true to life. The subject of kids' doing weird smiles for pictures and not being able to help it could've been the subject matter of an Everyone Loves Raymond episode—and I actually mean that as a compliment as they
