I was gonna say something about how hard it is to get anything funded indie name brand director or not but Rabbit Hole I think turned a small profit for its studio so there's really no reason to think of other than bad luck via the Showtime series and maybe some creative inertia that he hasn't been able to get going

to be fair Birth was a huge bomb at the time it came out. Granted he could've probably sold a screenplay and insisted on directing it to another studio in the decade since but I can't imagine he was hot post Birth.

you have me thinking now about how long its been since Brett Ratner put out a movie at this point—and his last movie was Tower Heist which was fall of '11 but what was the last movie he did before that? Rush Hour 3? (which was summer of '07?) For a guy who is held up a lot as an example as to how crappy modern day

Because ABC. I suppose they could move Shark Tank up and then do a Talking Shark type show after it—but that's only if they're truly desperate to fill up this half hour!

I don't dislike Dallas Roberts, but I liked Roe and the woman with whom he had a steadily increasing flirtation with—he was much more of an everyman…and she was much more of an everywoman—the old white guy i'll agree never really served a function other than being confused as to how Carrie could remember so many minor

it was, but they still had 6 episodes left over from the summer run of the show that for whatever reason didn't get to air…and now that Undercover Boss is apparently over for the season they have the spot to run it in. (Actually I know the reason its because CBS didn't start their run of the show until July and

I have straight up loved this season. I'll agree with you in that they've gone to the mat with the "heart-warming" moments at the end of each episode more than going for one giant last laugh—but I'm very much a fan of the fact that those "heart-warming" moments they go for are usually very nicely underplayed by

I actually disagree. I didn't especially like either of the new cast members that were added and somewhat missed the three or four cast members that were no longer there because of cutbacks/last minute contract renegotiations.

I noticed that too—it was awesome! This was well worth the wait for it—-I wish I could say I had more of a life that this wasn't a highlight of my week but I'd be lying.

uhhhh Steyvescent??? guessing??? (I live here—I should know this stuff!)

surprised you didn't like the Twilight Zone episode—when it first aired I remembered being floored by it because of how much I liked the twilight zone ep it was taking off of—-god I remember being so floored by my original viewing of that episode—the twilight zone episode I mean when I was a kid and watching the

That said I am looking forward to seeing this as I feel like this is a movie that almost by definition cannot be even a little disappointing. (I'm not setting myself up for anything)

    HALF FORGOTTEN COMEDY CENTRAL STAPLE????
I saw Airheads in theaters opening night goddamnit. It was a surprisingly packed house too—I was quite surprised it more or less tanked. Did everyone who go to see it only go to that one evening showing???
That movie deserves to be remembered long into this century damnit. And

did not know that this was from the guy behind Nikita. Its actually really good to know as Nikita got really good really fast—however I would argue that it also started out kinda clunkily. (is that a word? disqus keeps telling me its not but screw it I'm a leave it in there anyways)
Also anyone here read those David

    agreed and ditto!

this is gonna sound stupid but I didn't even make the damn connection between Turn and turncoat until I read your comment just now!

When you say "Undercover Blues" do you mean the Dennis Quaid/Kathleen Turner movie? Did you know that dvd is like 100 bucks on amazon now? its very frustrating—I can't ever get rid of that tape because of that!

but but but I love the shiny gloss of MGM. Like absolutely love it!

my dad assumed it was actually an update (yes With Michael Cera as William Powell—and now I know why I suggested him up above!) at the time it came out.

see I really thought the movie captured the novel really really well. Like there have been just way, way, waaay too many times that I've read a book and then seen the movie made from it and wondered what the hell the director and screenwriter thought they were adapting—but this kept just about everything like to a T.
