And still we know nothing at all about Ann Perkins…
And still we know nothing at all about Ann Perkins…
I have a feeling they will either a) Have Piper leave the show and off to max b) Have Piper join Miss Claudette in max c) The girls pull through for Piper and help her clean up her mess, proving she does have a support system after all d) Her sentence is extended for the sake of more seasons.
I didn't like Piper until the last few episodes. I felt her breakdown was handled well and I jumped out of my seat at the end, I couldn't believe it. I hope they handle her depression next season.
So is it just me who cried when Poussey started singing Amazing Grace? It was such a lovely moment.
Not even a nod to Orange Is The New Black? How about an achievement in best ensemble of female characters since…ever
@avclub-5f7639030b6bceac7bd5a27dc4a9b338:disqus Okay…? The author was obviously trying to appease gay fans and he failed, clearly.
WOW.
Just finished this show and Episode 11 still sticks out at me. Just so sad and touching, scene after scene…Really hoping this show sweeps at the Emmys (it won't).
You shouldn't applaud him for that. He's fan servicing. At the end of the day he's still homophobic. Trust me, as a gay man, I don't feel any gratitude towards him for putting in gay characters knowing his bigot past.
This was a D episode at best
"As hoped for by those who expect TV shows to do things for them"
AND I also liked how the wife didn't scorn Sophia for being trans*, she rather scorned her for being a criminal. That was a nice touch, and put everything in to perspective.
I can almost smell the transphobic "Cox isn't really an actress!" comments now…
Everything you said here is pretty accurate! I think it is down to the audiences, really. Whilst having a trans* character is great/fantastic/a major step forward, people just aren't ready to see trans* people act as 'normal' (aka heteronormative) as every other cisgendered person. So I guess the show had to kind of…
Oh sorry my bad
I really couldn't care for Piper or Bigg's characters or whatever their drama is. This show is built by it's fantastic supporting cast and outstanding writing.
Funny you say that because I believe from Episode 7 onwards I was completely gripped by the show.
My thoughts exactly. I think that the show was leading us to believe she'd killed someone, only to then kind of 'double-bluff' us by letting the audience find out she ran a trafficking/immigration system only to then have that final touch where it turns out that she did kill someone, which lets the audience know…
Damn this show is so good. If it has any flaws I wouldn't be able to spot them since I'm so consumed by the gripping storytelling, progressive narrative and social commentary. I really hope next season is released at an eligible Emmy time because out of all the Netflix original shows, I think this should be the one to…
You say that but…Emmys vs NBC Comedies is always a losing battle
Definitely saw the Happy Endings snub coming but I was genuinely shocked at the New Girl snub. Season 1 was pretty crappy compared to how amazing Season 2 was.
