NO BLOOD FOR GOD!

Are you on Twitter, Yankee? There's a strong contingent of Chicago AVCCers on there.

Mezzanine. Planning on meeting some friends in the city. Any recommendations on food, etc. are more than welcome!

I'm ecstatic about the band's success! Just miffed I couldn't get standing tickets. But I would pay to see these guys from a high hill overlooking an amphitheater. But there's got to be some place left in the country they won't sell out in under an hour, right?

I've been an obsessive fan of this band for a while, and they've been uncomfortably big for a while now. Two weeks ago, they sold out two nights in a stadium in Chicago in under 15 minutes. They added a third night. It is now sold out.

Person who has chosen to post as Paul Kinsey, you are an eminently reasonable individual. I commend you for presenting political ideas in so benevolent a fashion. As someone who has adapted to the terms of contemporary discourse or rather, who has been infected with the disease of contemporary politics, I admire your

What struck me about Todd's description of Beck's method is how much it resembles the process of Scientology, as described in the recent New Yorker expose. The Scientology religion demands that its adherents progress through a series of levels or stages of spiritual development. The church itself controls access to

The scientist in this episode was more compelling than any of the FotWs in season 1. His megalomaniacal obsession with building his legacy reflected both Walternate's interest in protecting his grandchild and Walter's mad quest to save his son; this kind of thematic resonance was rarely felt in the stories of the

I actually think that the remaining portion of season 6 and the first handful of episodes of season 7 contain some of the strongest Xander characterization in the run of the series. Season 4 ignored him; season 5 couldn't settle on whether he should be solemn or idiotic; season 6 sees him grow up, finally. Of course,

There's an aisle of Tom Baker's Tongue in every sex shop in America! Now I ask you, good people, how there could possibly be enough of his tongue to go around? TommyTongue, Inc. is a lot of charlatans!

I don't think the movie would have worked at all if he hadn't been so childlike. All the straight men in that movie are submissive little boys (aside from the evil exes), and all the women are dominant and mature. The story charts his growth from perpetual adolescence to young-manhood.

I can't say whether they'll last, certainly. But part of the experience of a music year is the memory of living through it. Between the incredible shows I saw and the hundred-ish good-great albums I heard, it was easily the stand-out music year for me. Will the albums hold up? High Violet still makes me feel like

2010.
Sure, it was last year, but the quantity and variety of truly great albums was absolutely amazing. And it was horrible to try to keep up with.

Nope, I got tickets. But it was a pain in the ass, trying to get two together that weren't in the furthest section of the venue from the stage.

"Fans Get All the Tix"
If this is anything like the Chicago dates, that means fans will get all the tix within ten minutes of them going on sale.

Dark of the Moon is surely the worst play to do boffo business on Broadway. Ugh. Terrible script.

The Shoe Budget Alone Must Be Insane!
Seriously. A gang of spiderwomen apparently spend an entire musical number trying on dozens of high heels they stole for their Greek goddess master or something. What the fuck is this thing? How did it happen? When will it die?!

See Mel Gibson in Jodie Foster's Beaver!
You may think he's overdoing it, but this is Mel coming off a softie!

The Greatest American Artist of the Second Half of the 20th Century
…Not musically, though.
