I actually think s8 is better than seasons 6 and 7 and, arguably, 5. The search for Mulder gave the show much-needed direction, and Scully's new dynamic with Doggett made for dramatically compelling TV. S9's just a load of shit, though.

It felt like the write-ups consisted of nothing more than disappointed shrugs. The show managed a lot of great moments in the period already covered (in my opinion), and it seemed like you really weren't feeling them, Zack.
