she's quite good in comedies. dramas? um, not so.

right now? but i'm at work!
our long national nightmare is over.
i should probably try reading all the comments on a thread before posting.
yeah, but we're kinda getting into serious "stepin fetchit" territory when it comes to this question. nobody's holding a gun to rebel wilson's head and demanding that she make an ass of herself when the director yells "action!"
i'll make the obvious comment here: anything with olivia williams in it is worth watching.
i genuinely enjoyed the "zombie-cam" segment. "safe haven" i liked but also thought there was WAY too much movie crammed into those 25 minutes. the other two stories and the wraparound stank.
i wish someone had decided to make it a full-length movie. there's so much stuff jammed into 25 minutes that it feels seriously overloaded.
the odd thing is that something like the recent financial crisis should not be the impetus for any good fictional movies. yet it's produced one near-great (margin call) and one very good (arbitrage). and oddly, NO good documentaries (at least none i can think of).
yeah, there's definitely that oddness about it as well.
actually, this is a reference to your old habit of placing an exclamation point after everything you watched/read/listened to. that was you, wasn't it?
well, now that it's over i probably will check it out. and the consensus seems to be that it holds up from start to finish, which is also encouraging. one of the reasons i just don't bother to get involved with much tv is because most shows seem to get so goddamned shitty after a couple of seasons.
i liked DU a lot even though it has 1 seriously damaging structural issue (namely, the long ridiculous shoot-out after christoph waltz's character is killed).
iron man 3: i thought that this was damn near as good as its boosters here insisted it was after aa dowd's now-infamous C+ review.
when you wanna someone eat it.
something's missing from this post!
i gave up on dexter after season 5. and in retrospect, i probably should have done it after season 3, which was pretty terrible. i LOVED season two so much though. i think it was one of those things where i got so into how perfect that particular season was and how thrilling it had been for me, that i just kept…
there's a good interview with PP somewhere on this site. and she pretty obviously had some fun jousting with (as she saw them) sexist/creepy posters later. at least, i think it was her. back then you didn't have to have an account to post here. ah, those were the good ol' days.
for a while there stevie wonder could do no wrong in my book. innervisions and fulfillingness first finale are also pretty phenomenal.
some actors are just lousy at projecting certain things, no matter how good they may be otherwise or hard they try. can you imagine jesse eisenberg playing a stupid person? it'd never work. i don't even know if the guy is smart in real life, but onscreen he projects a high degree of intelligence.
