"Y super gracias a 'Goya'!"

It certainly helped the episode that Brian Posehn is a literal troll. Bridge-living, child-eating, ginger-hair-urry-where troll beast. Honestly, the highlight of a mediocre episode.

As a former Clevelander, I appreciated both the reference to Tri-C as well as Record Rev on Coventry, the one 'bohemian' neighborhood in town i.e. it has a head shop.

If I woke up looking like that, I would find the nearest living thing and kill it.

My own stray observation: Kaling is clearly breaking towards the end of the sequence when Pally has his 'gun' to her head in the cold open. Once he starts in about the flag, her mouth is visibly quivering and she's working hard to put it down, barely keeping it together.

You are absolutely correct, sir.
This is the case on all three of the versions in my possession.
All pedantry aside, I will still hail Erik Adams for making the selection.

Major realization watching the premier: this show is 'True Blood' for families.

1. Totally failed to pick up on the Wonder Years voice-casting subtext. Subtle, and surprising.
2. Having never heard of Hawk and Dove before (mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa) I skipped this episode in my original Netflix runthrough in order to hurry-hurry into the Cadmus metaplot. In retrospect, I would have

Excuse me, I have to go clean my pants after enduring multiple, rigorous fangasms.

No… words… should have sent… a poet…

Amazingly this is how I always pictured my dogs' perception of the world - interlinked smells and symbols they represent all at the same time. Ima buy the hell out of this.

Really great obit, and that last line drives it home Zack - he somehow put into words that animal yearning inside of us that just can't quite be spoken.

Hush now, no lines until Season 2.

The A.V. Club is reviewing JLU?!
