Tyrion's wedding doesn't seem so bad in hindsight. Threats of castration and rape, sure, but at least no one died horribly or was captured.

my friends and I used to play a game that whenever a team was on the clock we'd guess who was going to get picked, then drank if we got it wrong. we were usually drunk by about the 12th pick.

close, but Frank Miller believes that subtext is for queers.

I honestly thought Game 1 was the worst (Chara off the post…Daugavins blowing an absolute gimme…fuuuuuck) and then Game 6 happened.

@avclub-b9a25e422ba96f7572089a00b838c3f8:disqus  to be fair there is one character death (trying not to give away too much even if it's been out for over a year) that's kind of visually gruesome. then again, that moment is immediately tempered with a joke, so I have no idea.

"He framed me for armed robbery, but man I'm aching for that tax cut"

I was going to say, hip hop hasn't really been like that in like 10 years.

She's been called "The Brick Hithouse" and is also known as "The Southern Dandy"…

to be fair, the Karstark thing was damned if you do, damned if you don't. he'd look soft he had let Karstark live.

well, in war there's typically a level of animosity built up towards the opponent that would get released afterwards; I didn't think the Bolton or Frey men would have been fighting the Starks long enough for that (although I guess maybe the Freys are born hating everything) but it's something that ultimately isn't a

which is partially true, but still.

So, were those Frey and Bolton men who were carrying out the massacre? or were there Lannister soldiers who snuck in? because I knew Robb lost a lot of support, but I didn't know he was THAT hated (considering how celebratory the whole thing seemed).

@avclub-ea93d61158b479315c8e0d4cd003ec35:disqus  - Why else do you think Bolton set Jaime free with the only condition being that Jaime tells Tywin that Bolton let him ago and did not cut off his hand? I get the impression that Bolton sees Robb as a sinking ship, and the Lannisters are the best lifeboat available.

as long as Dany is still alive, Stannis is a usurper just like his brother.

it was that and, much like his father, trusting people who were completely untrustworthy.

as I speculated in another response to you, might this lead to some kind of mini-rebellion among the other houses in the North? Cersei even said in season 1 that there's no way to occupy it for any extended period of time. also there's the Wildlings swarming in there. maybe Winterfell just works as a symbol of power.

@avclub-c404a5adbf90e09631678b13b05d9d7a:disqus I had totally forgotten that.

you know, it's times like this that remind you that George RR Martin is a New York Jets fan.

that little smile he gave was just jaw-droppingly awful. one of those things that makes a good villain.

it makes it all the more interesting that Tywin was so intent on Tyron marrying Sansa — Winterfell is fucking useless now, right? there's no one living there!
