I didn't want to stay in on Wednesday, so I went to the bar and watched a Tom Waits cover band.  They were fully committed and pulled off a good set.  The combination of music and costumed patrons made for enjoyable time being a fly on the wall.  Plus, the keyboardist dressed as Jesus handed out chocolates.

I liked Look Homeward Angel pretty well.  It's one of those dysfunctional family novels where all the dysfunctional family members are unintentionally more likable than the narrator.

Hey, I rewatched the first two episodes last night while my cable was out.  Afraid the flaws become more apparent to me every time I revisit it, both because it's impossible to recapture the experience of watching the show for the first time, and because TV dramas have evolved so much in 20 years.
