She is.  She was also center stage for a fair amount of last night's show.  The only one in the back was the drummer.

Pretentious, sure, but twee, no.  Also not really folk anymore

Can we just change this feature to a "Curmudgeon's Corner"?  Falko and Steve Albini have easily been the best here so far, and it's clearly due to their highly developed misanthropy.

Refused was absolutely the best show of the fest.  As well as performing like crazy and forging an intense connection to the audience, they actually sounded almost note-perfect on top of that.  So good.

My undergrad school had an event called Drag Ball (self-explanatory) that the school's sound engineers ran.  We worked from 8 PM to 6 AM then got pancakes at IHOP afterwards.  Of course, this meant that a majority of us were in drag, at IHOP, in the middle-of-nowhere Midwest, at 6 AM.

True.  But it's also got a little more heart than their latest IMHO.  And you really can't beat the opening of "Throwing Bricks at Trains"

That title sequence was fantastic.  If they'd released it as the video for the song, maybe it would have made more sense for airplay.

They've been playing Mclusky songs, and it's going to be your only chance to hear those.  So yes.
