Disagree. If film had originally been invented with no grain (i.e., imperceptible grain), it wouldn't be added later as an improvement. It's like saying you can't live without the pops of vinyl or the hiss of audiotape.

Williams and Silverman both look pretty good, actually. The scene clearly isn't meant to be lascivious, but it's not like you'd need to avert your eyes.

It occurred to me just yesterday that all the YouTube videos calling the 20-second San Diego fireworks fiasco an "epic fail" were at last justified in using that term.
