Cf. the woman-playing-a-man-playing-a-woman in "Victor Victoria," as portrayed by Julie Andrews, who is even less convincing as a man than Glen Close.

Speaking of creepy "Happy Birthday Mr. President" imitations, how about that Sopranos episode ("In Camelot") with Tony's father's goomah (Polly Bergen)?

"Pineapple Express"  (though the rest of the movie is pretty good, too).

There's an episode where it is discovered that faster-than-light travel is somehow damaging the environment, and that everybody has to travel at Warp 5 or less. Never came up again.

Chance (Peter Sellers) in "Being There."

She was also awesome in "House Bunny" and "Ghosts of Girlfriends Past."

No love for
Terry Gross?

It seems that the author, feeling highly defensive and puffed up with feminist righteousness, massively overreached by latching onto "rom-com" as some kind of term of hatred. It's just a shortening of "romantic comedy," after all. I never heard anyone use it to refer to "women movies."

Reservoir Dogs

I'm with man-in-the-moon-man; the story of the fair was fascinating. A very nice companion to Larson's "TDitWC" is "Eiffel's Tower" by Jill Jonnes.

At least Ryder's old-lady voice was way better in "Star Trek" than in "Edward Scissorhands."

> Yeah, but at least it cured Andrew Dice Clay's delusions of adequacy.
> His biggest role after Ford Fairlane was "Uncle Sal" in Jury Duty.
@ Too Much Time: See "One Night at McCool's." Though not an ADC fan, I gotta say he comports himself well in that one—as two characters.

Podcast vs. formal review
Not bad for some guys sitting around talking, but will there be a version for people who can read?
