This episode pretty much won me with McHale's impression of the Dean.

Next week is apparently a big secondary characters ep. Leonard and Starburns at least.

I agree. I kind of wanted this plot to be more earnestly sweet. I think it would've been more surprising and Community-esque had Jeff really had some sort of connection with the Dean, despite the character's goofiness. The ending made the Dean seem more evil than just well-meaning pansexual imp.

Yvette Nicole Brown had her best ever "That's NICE". Given the material they are giving her, she is certainly making the most of it. I hope she gets a mediocre but wildly successful cable sitcom someday and makes the sitcoms on TBS mildly better.

Kevin Michael Richardson is so underrated as a comic talent.

Hey, let's all just quote Nathan lines from Misfits instead.

Robert California flat out saying "What am I up to?" would've been the ultimate nadir for this show if it hadn't been saved by Spader's line reading.

No review of the three new Five tunes?

The details of Terra Nova were laid out pretty clearly like, 2 years ago. That thing's been in development as long as Community has, I think.

I think it was better here than the election episode.

Dan Harmon used the "pizza" analogy a lot in the Season recap. I call this a really good piece of pizza. Some comfort food to settle things down from the premiere before we get off to the races with John Goodman and Michael K. Williams and all the craziness promised.

Academy Award nominee Jim Rash would be a delightful sight to see.

Harmon in the DVD commentary: Gwynifer is Jeff's code name for Britta.

The "I have 911 on Speed Dial" sign reminded me of "Where are the Sticky Buns?"

This was supposed to be the canon series finale if the show got cancelled again, with next week's experiment with different forms of animation sort of a bonus, like the Xmas special.

I think it's some sort of elaborate dream sequence where everyone but Tommy is dead. That last Lou line made me feel that way.
