Saturday I watched "Pootie Tang," which I do every couple of years. Not to rehash the old AV Club Pootie Tang debate, but that movie is frequently hysterical, and in the end history will vindicate me and my fellow Pootie-boosters. Sa da tay.

I agree with Patton Oswalt's feeling on the Watchmen film (and I too am thinking of the director's cut here). It's not perfect. It's not even VERY good. But, realistically, it's the best Watchmen movie that could possibly be made. Sure it would be way better as an HBO miniseries, but that was never going to happen.…

Also, somebody uses the wrong damn flags, as my medieval studies grad student girlfriend is so fond of pointing out every time somebody so much as mentions the word "kingdom" or "heaven."

To say nothing of "It Takes a Lot to Laugh" and "It Ain't Me." And "Isis," which would almost definitely be in my top 5 Dylan songs if some cruel entity made me choose. What an amazing album. It's squarely at the top of my most listened-to Dylan over the past few years.
