The backdoor pilot vibe I got from this episode might make an interesting concept to follow up on but for the series it made me think how much I like certain aspects of Peter and made me appreciate how much the show has developed it's characters that we would even consider some other permutation on its formula.

Part of the story also didn't seem to make sense. Was Newton and the brain lobotomies a lark because it seemed like Peter happened to stumble on a serial killer who "wanted to be close" to the woman. Every time I see this theme I can't help but think of that episode of Venture Brothers where Rusty introduces Dean to psychedelic rock.
