"Americans don't tend to go nuts for Brits trying to be Yanks…"

This version did serve to raise "Angels'" profile. I've not heard a popular "Millennium" or "Rock DJ" cover.

Just realized this….Walt is Anakin Skywalker!

Next time on "Low Winter Sun":

Usually when I put rice in, the opposite of severe diarrhea occurs.

Congrats AV Club on your 50th+ Breaking Bad article in a 24-hour period! Well, at least you're not doing stuff like…"32 Cats Who Are Worse Nazis than Uncle Jack".

When I see the name Gath all I can think about is the short-lived, but impressively audacious show "Kings", starring Ian McShane. That whole show was an EXTREMELY thinly-veiled reference to the story of King David, including the whole Goliath thread (Goliath was a tank in "Kings").

They all also discovered simultaneously that they had Celiac disease, so going against the grain made sense for BR.

"The Problem with Breathing" (and "Why Oxygen Might Save Us All")

First time listening to these guys, thanks for the recommendation: this song "Landmine Spring" really feels less like an RATM tune than some sort of early emo act like Sunny Day Real Estate. Good stuff!

I saw both bands perform back to back this weekend, and I've got to give the award to Vampire Weekend for best set, if only because their sounds are shorter and lend themselves to fun sing-alongs.

I just saw MGMT at the Virgin FreeFest last weekend. Not a bad show, but CLEARLY, the vibe was way better from the band and the crowd, when they busted out "Electric Feel" and "Time to Pretend".

…And You Will Know Us By the Shitty Band Name

Self-indulgent messes can still be fun! I love Oasis' "Be Here Now".

Oh, how I miss the days when Travis and Coldplay were roughly on the same level of potential and popularity.

"Turn" was pretty rocking in a sing-along kind of way. And hidden track "Blue Flashing Light" rocks as hard as they could muster.

I was disappointed to see that Tucker character killed off at the end of the episode. That actor, Andrew Howard, played a great baddie on Hatfields & McCoys ("Bad" Frank Phillips): I was hoping that Tucker could fill in as the psychopath de jour for this season of BE, but alas, his macheted head put an end to this

This reminds me of Joe Pesci winning best supporting actor. The Academies LOVE vicious psychopaths. And Cannavale played his to a tee!

Which seems to be the opposite of what's happened to Van Alden. His scenes last week were almost slap-stick; he's playing a neutered pawn, which his character never was back in season 1.

I thought it was a flashback at first to Nucky and his brother's younger days. The blonde bully gave off a cocky-Nucky vibe.
