At the two-week mark after my break up (mentioned last week), Saturday night I tipsily starting poking around on Tinder, which I heard about from a friend. It's an incredibly shallow dating app, for which I am both too shallow and not shallow enough, apparently, because I wasn't coming up with many guys I found

WOO GO HAWKS!

I tell mine to have a good day, she glares at me like I'm a moron.

I tried making a really basic radish and cucumber salad the other day with a rice vinegar/canola oil/sugar dressing, and I tossed some Sriracha in there — it kinda marinated in the fridge about 24 hours before I pulled it out to eat some, and it smelled like…eggs. Like, bad eggs. No idea what was going on there. It

It's funny how certain lines and something about the way Bledel delivers them have stuck in my head in the years since I first saw these episodes. Like, I don't know what it is about the way she says "Uh huh, big fun" on their way to the town hall before the dance marathon, but it could be five years since I'd watched

Haha, it's all good, seems we're on the same page!

I wonder when they started dating IRL, cause yeah, they have some crazy chemistry in the early moments of their relationship.

There was also Babette's new kitten Rory was taking care of in the Donna Reed episode, but do we ever even see the cat? I mean, if I was petsitting an inevitably adorable kitten, I'd be cuddling with it all night, not recreating 50s-era dinner scenes…

And as much as Emily gets called out for her manipulation, Richard is usually shown in a more positive light, despite Lorelai's more negative feelings toward him — it's affecting to see Rory lash out at him when she's very much idolized him so far. Definitely a moment of maturing for her.

I assumed Dave was lying about his parents being there, since he was just hinting that he would be waiting for Lane on the church steps so she could sneak out and talk to him privately…right? Don't know why 5 am was when he decided to visit though.

My dad was in the Navy, and I even lived in Annapolis across the road from the Naval Academy for 4 years, AND attended a Naval Academy-affiliated private elementary school, yet I forget to watch it every year.

I finished The Unchangeable Spots of Leopards by Kristopher Jansma on Saturday. I enjoyed it a lot, despite (or because of) the feeling that I need to mull over what it said to me. I then started Too Bright to Hear, Too Loud to See, by Juliann Garey, which I'm liking already, but Beautiful Ruins (by Jess Walter) is

Totally. My biggest regret there (with the photo) was that I was in a group shot with a super reputable figure, indirectly involved with my industry, who came to visit my work. His PR rep posted the photo on his twitter page, and I was standing slightly apart from the group, at a bad angle to the camera, on my way to

Also for some reason, when I plug my phone into my computer, it deletes all my downloaded podcasts when it syncs. So I lose all the stuff I've been meaning to get to, including old episodes of This American Life, which I lose for good since you can just get one at a time.

@avclub-8dd007f4a97be79c135c67999bf5b27e:disqus That's my problem. I bought a maxi skirt, not a whole dress, and I FEEL great in it because it's so comfortable and flowy, but I didn't realize until I saw myself in a photo how the fact that I have wideish hips and a shapely bum does me no real favors in the thing.

Ohh, I saw an NPR write-up about Relish, meant to check it out, and then promptly totally forgot about it. You've reminded me again to track it down!

Credit goes to Smitten Kitchen, but yeah, they were SO GOOD.

I don't think so. I believe it was a local beer (Iowa), I can't seem to find it online though.

I went out for drinks after pub trivia last night and attempted to order a Thai Wheat beer (hints of ginger, lemongrass, that kind of thing) that I'd had at a beer festival about a month ago, but sadly they were out. So I got a Bell's Oberon instead.

The fact that oktoberfest/fall seasonals are already out freaks me out, but has also inspired me to start knitting and do fall-weather things already.
