Oh I agree with you there. I was a huge fan of Doyle's when I was a kid and have read all the works at least once. And I would say Doyle's Sherlock had very little regard for anyone. Absolutely. It's imaginative, it's smart and it's got great chemistry between its leads. It does a better than expected job of adapting some classic stories. It's fun and it's two or three cuts above most other things on. Why does it have to be more than that.

Hiddleston's Loki, while perfectly fine, has been completely one-note: the petulant child. Cumberbatch's Kahn was much more nuanced. I particularly liked the way he used his Sherlock-esque cool to convey his contempt of humans. Like humans were a distraction he couldn't believe he was still having to deal with.
