I think where the "secretly" comes from is I always felt that SftD was an album you put on and go "OMIGAWDTHISISFUCKINAWESOME!" ….Lullabies is more put it on, go "hmm, not bad." Put it on again a few weeks later and go "wow, this really has some good stuff on it I didn't catch on first listen." Put it on a few days

Um, yeah, Document and Appetite formed the "true" template for grunge, never mind that Sub Pop released Deep Six in 1986, and Soundgarden, the Melvins, and Green River were already doing their respective things 3-4 yrs by then.

Yeah, I was kinda baffled by that - "…some great albums in there…" - then proceeds to gloss over 10+ yrs to pump up Dehumanizer, which I actually recall being pretty well-received at the time.
