I'd like to give you some pamphlets on orchicubism.  You might find them helpful.  And cheer up… there's a lot of us out here.

Jon Benjamin as Spiro Agnew is pretty inspired.  Imagine Archer saying a phrase like "nattering nabobs of negativism."  It's just perfect somehow.

Is there a recommended schedule for combing out lice?  I'm asking for a friend.

@avclub-ca157d1a1382fd3eb266129b96bdba74:disqus : Well just going by the cover, that actually could be the same plot…

Actually, we were going to say that's what she said to you last night.

Careful though, I've got a registration on Good Will Humping.

I loved Lars Von Trier's smartass host segments for Riget.  I assume they were at least a partial nod to Hitchcock.  Hopefully he'll do more TV someday—

Yeah, we've kind of left out anything outside of pop from this list.  There's all the songs in Sunday in the Park with George to consider, and since architecture seems to be included here, what about Debussy's La Cathedrale Engloutie, which was inspired by the design of Mont St. Michel?

That's a G-I-R-L-F-R-E-N, that's a girlfriend./Something that I-I understand.

Jared Leto's playing Graham Chapman?

The Czech remake is noted for its Prague scene.

Why couldn't they have had a bog scene?

Well, it's all ukulele instrumentals, but otherwise yeah.

@avclub-8890e84fa8244fb6b45175bda383cd93:disqus : If you're still reading this, I feel they are.  I think Koyaanisqatsi is much the most effective, perhaps because it seems the least overt in its message, but they're all striking films and Reggio is quite an interesting person.

I often hear Koyaanisqatsi praised but rarely the latter two.  I do think they're ultimately lesser films, but I saw Naqoyqatsi after meeting him and hearing him speak about it, and I feel like it made a pretty big difference to my perception of the film.

On the other hand, if he had done the Mr. Creosote scene… well, six of one, half dozen of another really.

It really is a beautiful work.  It's really about as lovely, affecting and fascinating as the "film as essay" form gets, at least for me— though there are certainly gaps in my viewership on that score.

Seriously.  He's one of the most reliably humane and dignified commenters on the site— he's even got a Commie named after him, like Jean Hersholt does at the Oscars.  The AV Club commentariat is the better for his presence.
