@avclub-9c75bab0f5d964591655e73e7c22c540:disqus I would not have supposed that the finale of Quantum Leap drew a higher share than the finale of ER.

I've always liked Martin Short, but it's possible that the tone of the character doesn't mesh quite right with the show.  But it does get funnier with repeat viewings.  I find his vomits highly entertaining.

I continue to maintain that, had the series continued, Tobias would have been revealed to be a genuine hermaphrodite, as was foreshadowed in the Spanish picture dictionary.  Which makes those Kegels all the more pointed.

The '50s stuff by Will Elder and Wally Wood was always my favorite.  And it could be pretty pointed as well.  I remember a Howdy Doody takedown ("Howdy Dooit") that was pretty acidic about the show's advertising to kids, and pretty much the state of television as a whole.

My favorite is the 2001 parody with Ernest Borgnine, Paul Simon, and Art Garfunkel, especially because it also borrows the plot of Fire Maidens from Outer Space.

"Lewis sings Dylan" was a high point as well.

That movie certainly failed to reinvent Judd Nelson.
