Oh, come on.

Episode 1 did a really good job of stating: we are keeping the elements of the old show that you liked, but we are not just retelling the same story with different characters.

"I don't normally like to play this card but, I'm the Avatar."

More importantly, what is the source of all jerkbending?

You're probably right about the priesthood.  They did seem to be a very active and independent part of the FN during Aang's time and probably only fell apart after the Airbender genocide appeared to eliminate some of their central doctrine.  There's also not any propaganda movements in Sozin's time like there was in

The dialogue on this cartoon is crazy good.  It's so hard to have characters react to situations in a fantasy universe with the right mix of amazement, nonchalance, and self reference, but those two lines you mention freaking nail it.

Aang's grandson looks just like my 2 year old.  I wish my wife was a fan of the show, because all my kids look like me, and I know she'd empathize with Tenzin's pregnant wife's comment.

More importantly, will they cover episodes when they appear on TV or on the interwebs?

Sozin's maniacal insanity was due to a fascist tradition that gave absolute power to a single family based on strict heirarchies and firebending prowess and a power vacuum caused by industrialization and a breakdown of competing cultural institutions.

I saw no reason why those were the only two dragons.  At the start of the episode, they thought there were no dragons.  Then, they found out there were two dragons they did not know about.  Nobody said there were not other dragons they did not know about.

I'm liking it.  My favorite moment so far is in Episode 1 when Korra and the soapbox anti-bending advocate faced off.  I love exploring all the imbalances of power inherent in this very fleshed out universe.  If I were in the Avatar world, I would definitiely be on a soapbox railing against the unfairness of bending

It was fun to watch Zuko, who had just had the most perfect confrontation with his father, the Fire Lord, knowing exactly what to say in a couple of minutes to reverse a lifetime of confusing abuse, have no idea how to express himself to the open-minded optimistic Aang gang.

When he's playing to a black audience.

I wanted to be called "Herbie Goes Bananastasia" but that was too many characters.

Some of us work for a living.  I have 12 hours a day of boring goddamn silence I have to fill.

I feel so sad that Doug Benson mispronounced my twitter handle.

Keep it crispy.

That was always my concern. I grew up with cartoons like this whose business model was "1. Create marketable characters in ultimate battle for supremacy;
2. Talk constantly about upcoming ultimate battle for supremacy;
3. Stall for time."

SPOILER FINAL BATTLE DISCUSSION SPOILER

I like how some dude in the suburbs turns into an 8 foot tall plant monster and Batman doesn't even blink. Like he thought something like that might happen.
