That's a Mimi Pond cartoon. She's fuckin' genius.

I shouldn't care because I will never read the books or see the movies but that bugs the SHIT out of me. Why not "Erudition" and "Dauntlessness"? Was that so hard, Veronica Roth?

I watched every goddamn episode of Dexter up until the final episode, and I bailed. I just couldn't do it. I read a recap and realized I'd made the right decision. I should have gotten out years before, but too soon old, too late smart.

In a previous life I was a copy editor, back when they used to pay people to do that.

"The child is found dead, and in less than one piece…."

Those were called Peanut Butter Oompas and they were the HEROIN of the candy aisle. The best imaginable thing in the entire world.

I saw Descent in the theatre and I actually screamed when that thing showed up in the night-vision camera. For pure jolting horror, nothing can top that scene.

The version for this generation is called "Private Romeo", and it is awesome.

I actually, briefly thought they were going to kill him off, and the rest of the season would deal with the aftermath.

On a related note, on our first trip to London, England, pretty much the first thing my husband and I did was to go to the bookstore where the exteriors for Black Books were filmed. Pointless and yet completely worth it.

Alec Baldwin, Married to the Mob, black briefs. Holy god.

I wish I had.

I have always thought "Somewhere That's Green" is the best song in the film: we know how utterly ridiculous its dream of suburbia is ("a fence of real chain-link!") but Ellen Greene sells it completely.

SPOILER ALERT

Campari is like 25% sugar by weight, so it's actually really sweet: it's no bitterer than tonic water. Still, an acquired taste, no doubt about it.

She has a beautiful voice and "Breath Me" just rips me to shreds but JESUS CHRIST can she not learn to enunciate? She's missing half her consonants!

Yeah, but the Mathieu Bich trick Spreadwave (you can watch it on Youtube) was just "No fucking WAY is that possible", and he even provided the punchline when Penn asked if he used multiple decks.

Jesus CHRIST that voice. He says more than one sentence and the whole thing descends into a hideous slurry of vocal fry. He really needs a speech therapist.

As soon as I read "most hated movie of the '90s" I thought of Forrest Gump, a fucking atrocity, shamefully pandering, and yet so revered that I began to feel like its votaries were of a different species.
