As far as I know, it's the only daytime soap opera to be syndicated. It had a brief vogue on local stations in the late 70s, then it did the rounds of tri-state-area PBS for quite a while.

Jeez, I don't know why the AV Club is always putting down the Gong Show. It was funny, and it at least tried to be something different. Far more than can be said about America's Got Talent.

Power through. If you just started with 212, you got a ways to go until the dog days. I have never seen the first 200, you don't really need to. The introduction of Barnabas is when it becomes a big sensation.

The Last Samurai was one of the most excruciating movies I've ever suffered through. As a friend put it, everyone involved should have their right to make movies revoked. That's the only one of that list I've seen, but he seems like a mega-hack who is good at churning things out. Just what the Bond franchise needs.

I never read the book, but this movie scared the crap out of me when I saw it in college. Literally. (OK, not really literally.)  Can't believe it holds up as bad as it says here, especially for people who don't know the book.

I can't say I watched it much after the first season - which I remember being great - but in the end it was the Cosby show, and it was all about your feelings toward Bill. And as it went on, he became more of a douche.

I remember Steve Martin's Best Show Ever, which is on that disc, being pretty primo. So, yeah, I'm eyeing that disc too.

It's been years since I saw it, and obviously I have no desire to see it again, but that was not my recollection. Otherwise, how could Begnini hide what's happening from his son? And, I remember reading, even Begnini conceded the movie wasn't historically accurate, but said he was constructing a larger fable, or
